Thank you for your interest in applying to join the Yokohama Hub at the Global Shapers Community. We are very excited to welcome new shapers (members) and can't wait to get to know more about you through this process. Please read the following information carefully before applying.

Application Guideline

Yokohama Hub is now recruiting new members (shapers) to join the community.

We are looking for individuals that:

  • Are at the age of 18-27 years old at the time of joining Yokohama Hub

  • Demonstrates a strong desire to make a social change and glocal impact to and from Yokohama and the greater world.

  • Have a verified track record or relevant potential to meet the expectation above

  • Are committed to working with the Global Shapers on projects

  • Live or work at/near Yokohama (Tokyo included)

  • Are able to communicate in English (recommended)

As a Shaper, you will be able to:

  • Be a part of the vast network of glocal communities across 500 hubs around the world

  • Apply to participate in global gathering events such as the Davos and other shapers-exclusive events

  • Utilize the network and the resources available to drive glocal impacts through projects

As a Shaper, you are required to:

  • Participate in the monthly meetings (In-person / Online / Hybrid)

  • Contribute in at least 1 project at the hub

  • Actively engage with the Shapers of the hub

Recruitment Process

  • Application period: May 25th – June 26th 23:59 PM

  • Information sessions (details below)

  • Document screening result announcement and individual interview signup: around June 30th

  • Interview screening Part 1: Group Discussion (online) : July 13th 8:00 - 9:00 PM JST

  • Interview screening Part 2: Individual Interview (online) : July 17th ~ July 24th 20:00 - 21:30 (30 minute slot)

  • Final announcement: July 30th

  • All Japan Info Session #1: Monday, May 11th 20:00 - 21:00｜Online

  • All Japan Info Session #2: Monday, May 25th 20:00 - 21:00｜Online

  • Yokohama Hub Info Session #1: Saturday, June 6th 12:00-13:00｜Online

  • Yokohama Hub Info Session #2: Sunday, June 21st 11:00 - 12:00｜Group lunch at Minatomirai
